In 2022, while at Wesleyan University, Abby wrote and performed a solo performance piece, To Play or Not To Play, as well as an accompanying research paper: "To Play or Not to Play: An Exploration of the Connection between Athleticism, Entertainment Culture, and Elevated Performance" for her undergraduate thesis.* The work combined her lived experience as a lifelong athlete and performer as well as research, interviews, and devised theatrical exploration. She used the project to stress the connection between athleticism and artistic expression, and benefits of cross-training performers and athletes. This piece became foundational for her own understanding of her craft and her approach to the work. Her thesis was awarded honors by the Wesleyan University Theater Department.
